Dylan Clay fills Team USA’s welterweight spot for upcoming M-1 Challenge

Colin Oyama of Irvine will be the coach of Team USA West, which will compete in the 2009 M-1 Challenge, USA West owner Roy Englebrecht of Newport Beach confirmed on Wednesday.

Here is the lineup for Team USA West, which will go up against Brazil on Feb. 21 at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Wash.:

154 lbs. — Brian Cobb (15-4)

167 lbs. — Dylan Clay (6-0)

185 lbs. — Reggie Orr (7-5-1)

204 lbs. — Raphael Davis (3-1)

Hwt — Carl Seumanutafa (4-1)

Dylan Clay, who is ranked as Hawaii’s #1 welterweight, was recently signed to fill the vacant spot as the team’s welterweight fighter. Clay, who lives on Maui and teaches and trains at Peak Performance Training Center, has fought in X-1 and Ultimate Cage Warriors. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist has finished all of his opponents by the second round by either submission or TKO. Clay is set to fight Eduaro Pamplona of Brazil.
